CDC funded IntraHealth for a four year project on HIV Strategic Information in South Sudan. The goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the MOH to generate, collect, manage, and disseminate quality Strategic Information for decision-making and effective management of resources and programs to response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Intra Health has demonstrated progress. The project achievements are: Finalized HIV Strategic Information plan/ HIV Strategic Information and Capacity Strengthening Plan for MOH of which IHI will support its implementation; completed formative assessment and bio-behavioral surveillance survey Protocols for survey among female sex workers. Long distance truck driver’s component has been removed from the target group. A protocol on PMTCT DQA/SQA has been approved and implementation plans were interrupted by the conflict in South Sudan. Intra health has worked with the MOH and CDC to finalize the protocol for the HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC) client intake form data analysis. Intra health is working with the MOH on data entry of HTC client intake form which will be analyzed to obtained bio-behavioral information on clients seeking HTC in 8 PEPFAR supported sites in high HIV prevalence areas.

This project’s HIV response include: development and printing of patient ART/PMTCT card and supporting of HIV services reporting and data use.

Intra health will work with MOH and other partners to generate HIV strategic information through implementation of BSS in female sex workers, assessment of male medical circumcision practices, conducting of Aids Indicator Survey in Equatoria region and strengthening of HMIS and routine data quality and use. It will also support MOH in the coordination of Global Fund new funding mechanism application.

Since COP2014, PEPFAR no longer produces narratives for every mechanism it funds.
